Scorpions

Tucson is home to the most venomous scorpion in North America, the Arizona Bark Scorpion.

Scorpions are one of our customers' primary concerns. Scorpions are incredibly resilient, are difficult to control, and dangerous for people and pets. Thousands of stings from scorpions are recorded every year.

Control Methods
Due to their increased and the difficulties associated with their control, it's highly recommended a thorough inspection of your home be completed by a professional to assist in mitigation.
Physical exclusion is almost always required in some fashion to keep scorpions out of your home. Arizona Bark Scorpions in particular are quite small and can fit through tiny gaps. Caulking gaps or installing weather stripping are quite effective.
Scorpions are active hunters, primarily at night. Among areas of harborage like river rock and retaining walls, controlling additional food sources for scorpions can assist in reducing population. Treating those areas for crickets and cockroaches can help to minimize their ability to hunt.
Material pesticide applications can be effective to some degree, provided the correct materials are used and are applied in conjunction with other control methods.
Not all areas of town have the same scorpion pressure. Ask an expert to see what the scorpion pressure is like in your neighborhood.
