Spiders

Some of Tucson’s creepiest of crawlies.

We have many types of common spiders lurking about. Some of these are considered beneficial, and can help limit insect populations. Others can be more dangerous, especially around kids and pets.

Spider Control
When it comes to spiders in Tucson, our main concerns are Widows, namely the Black Widow. These spiders are easily identified due to the coloration on their abdomens and their unique pearl like shape. Black widows are typically docile, but will bite when threatened. These bites can sometimes be serious.
The physical removal of webs and egg sacs is required when controlling black widow populations.
Limiting exterior harborage, liked stored items or unused patio furniture, limits the places black widows can spin webs and lay eggs.
Managing small insects around the immediate perimeter of the home can assist in limiting food sources for black widow spiders up against structures.
Spiders are one of the problems we deal with that require routine maintenance. They aren't as easy to control using residual pesticides, so routine removal of their eggs and webs is required.
