Roof Rats in Tucson
Roof rats have become a serious and growing problem in Tucson since 2021. Multiple isolated populations have established themselves across the city and surrounding communities. Unlike pack rats which are native to the Sonoran Desert, roof rats are an invasive species and their spread is a genuine concern for the region.
Roof rats are highly intelligent, excellent climbers and extremely cautious around new objects in their environment.
